Asteroid Ryugu is a near-Earth asteroid that was studied by the Japanese spacecraft Hayabusa2. Ryugu is a C-type asteroid, which means it is composed of carbonaceous material and is believed to be a primitive remnant from the early Solar System. Hayabusa2 conducted a close flyby of Ryugu in 2018 and deployed multiple landers and rovers to study the asteroid's surface composition, structure, and formation history. The mission collected samples from Ryugu's surface and returned them to Earth in December 2020 for further analysis. Studying asteroids like Ryugu can provide valuable insights into the formation and evolution of our Solar System.
